It still hasn't stopped raining. Only Veronica, David and I were awake this morning. Breakfast was late, at 7.30. Rice beans, papya, eggs and bananas. I opted for corn flakes and bananas again. Because it's raining we had class inside. We learned the political history of Nicaragua and the relationships with the US and Costa Rica (The contra vs. sandanistas, current politics, how the US backed the dictator Samosa and then the Contras with the school of americas etc)
It was a lecture that just seemed to hit home when thinking about how absolutely overbearing our goverment it with other countries. Carlos, the farm hand, is from Nicaragua and his story of himself, his sister and brothers and how they came to Costa Rica was fascinating.
